Not to jinx it, but the weather has really been our friend during these Concerts at the Mural at Seattle Center this month. Last Friday, KEXP listeners came out in force as the Seattle-centric lineup set the bar high as for how good these concerts can be. No one was fooled by Tea Cozies‘ quaint sounding name once the four members laid into their high octane set of catchy garage pop, and words can’t describe the craziness Head Like a Kite‘s performance — dancing girls in tights and high heels, red feather boas, babies used as props, mannequin heads launched from stage and a rotating cast of musical guests, like Terry Radjaw, Tilson, and Thee Emergency’s Dita Vox. As the sun when down, Say Hi, finished the night with a dancy set of synthpop. It was yet again another perfect evening to enjoy free music!
Check out the great photos by Brittney Bush Bollay here, and don’t forget that the series wraps up this Friday with Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band, The Head and the Heart, and Yuni in Taxco , so bring bring a blanket and all of your music-loving fans along with you.
